Our U.G. department was established in the year 1964 where as P.G. classes began in 1996 under self finance scheme. Both undergraduate and post graduate courses are run in the department with the help of six permanent teachers and three self finance teachers. Department is facilitated with fully equipped U.G. and P.G. laboratories. All the laboratories have adequate number of museum specimens of various plant groups. Enough of exercise material, different chemicals and stains required for anatomical studies, also apparatuses required for conducting physiological experiments are available in good number. There is also a botanical garden in the institution which is also helpful to study the plants live and also provides the practical exercise material required. Department is facilitated with ICT and intercom connection. There is also a departmental library with more than 600 books for the help of P.G. students and faculty. Subject is taught interestingly by regular teaching classes, guest lectures, field trips etc..
