The department of Biotechnology was established in 2003 with the introduction of M.Sc. course. The two year M.Sc. (Semester) programme has intake of 40 students. In 2010, three years UG (yearly) integrated programme in Biotechnology was also introduced with intake of 120 students. Department has well equipped laboratory and is connected with internet and intercom facility. It offers a highly conducive academic environment for teaching and learning activities. We encourage innovation and interdisciplinary activities with collaboration from other departments /Institutes on personal levels. We encourage our students and faculty to attend meetings/seminars/conferences and other academic activities. Department monitors overall performance of students through regular assessment and conducts test/seminars/quizzes. Teachers update themselves for discharging their responsibilities by attending seminars/conferences/workshops etc and by consulting library books, journals and regular study through use of internet.
