Industrial chemistry department was established in 1996 under the scheme of vocational courses sponsored by UGC at degree level. It is remarkable that industrial chemistry subject was introduced first time in Kanpur in Brahmanad College Kanpur. It evolved itself into a well known & reputed academic centre and so the managing committee of the college in 2003 decided to open post graduate classes to fulfil the requirement of passing out graduates. This was the first vocational course introduced by the college for the welfare of students. The department has well-equipped and ventilated laboratories with regular running water & LPG supply. There is also an instrumentation room for conducting practicals. Department has library facility to the UG & PG students which include reference books & text books related to latest syllabus.

The industrial chemistry department has excellent team of diligent and committed teachers. Department provides study material to all students according to UGC syllabus. Department also has a chemical society running for the multidimensional development of the students. Activities are organized by society such as seminars, quiz, poster presentation & model competition, projects, power point presentation etc. our students have visited so many industries related to chemicals. Student do their projects from various industries like sugar mills, ATI in Mumbai, Mohan Makings, Nerolac paints, Jal Sansthan, Parag Dairy etc. We organize industrial tours of various chemical industries & organization like NSI, CDRI, RSPL, leather industry etc. The summer training of one month as project work upgrade the knowledge & skill of our students. P.G. students are also motivated by the teachers to participate in various competitive exams (GATE, NET etc.) and for higher studies to inculcate scientific temper enhance practical/analytical ability and perceive the knowledge of instruments the teachers guide the students so that they can work efficiently in different National laboratories using advance technique. Student’s counselling is also a part of our learning process.
